So, what’s your story? They say everyone has a book inside them and at Honest Cat, we believe every story deserves to shine.

We are a team of trained journalists and self-confessed bookworms who are obsessed with bringing stories to life across all genres and formats. It doesn’t matter what you’ve written, we share your passion for writing. From the world of children’s books to nail-biting thrillers and inspiring self-help guides, we’ve edited and crafted narratives that captivate, guide, entertain and engage in equal measure.

So, what type of book genre do you have in mind? Each genre has its own unique demands and audience expectations. Are you crafting the intricate twists of a psychological thriller or building magical worlds in an epic fantasy?  Maybe your story burrows into the ordinary but as shadows lengthen, secrets emerge and chills scratch at the edges of each page. Or maybe you are weaving the heartwarming intricacies of contemporary romance, or creating a horror story so disturbing it makes the reader want to leave the light on…

Whatever your genre, our team is here to ensure your story’s voice, structure and pacing is brought to life, so every element enhances the narrative while staying true to you, the author. The goal is to produce work that is polished and immersive and which stands out in today’s literary landscape.

We offer a range of services designed to support writers at every stage of their journey, with three core editorial services:

Developmental Editing:

Got a story brewing but not quite sure how to make it the best it can be? We’ll dig deep into your narrative structure, characters, and plot arcs, helping you build a story that resonates from beginning to end. With our collaborative approach, we work closely with you to shape the bones of your book, ensuring that every chapter flows seamlessly and every character feels fully alive.

Copy Editing:

Let’s refine the language. Copy editing hones the clarity, style and readability of your text, ensuring that your voice rings true. We’re here to help with grammar, sentence structure, and consistency—making sure your story has polish and precision on every page.

Proofreading:

The final check before you go live. Our meticulous proofreading process catches any last typos, punctuation errors, or formatting mishaps, ensuring that your book looks clean, professional, and ready to be read. This is where we cross the t’s and dot the i’s, so your work is pitch perfect when it reaches your audience.

Whether you’re a first-time author or a seasoned writer, Honest Cat’s team of experienced and professional editors are here to work with you on your book.
